Alexa Meade measurements, bio, height, weight, shoe, and bra size
After being inspired initially by the shadows she observed on the grass of trees and the shadows she saw on the trees, she set out in developing a process that does not portray the subject in a 2-dimensional image. The object is turned into an image of itself. This is particularly true when using living items as well as those that are likely to perish like fruit or even humans. Alexa Meade's works are fleeting and the image is what remains. Techniques of photography and painting are closely coordinated and result in a two-dimensional, flat space which achieves trompe-l'oeil. The only parts of the image, like the hair or eyes, display the third dimension. Meade sometimes incorporates painted models into the environment around them. It allows them to engage with the environment she has created. The boundaries between performance, photography, installation and painting is thus broken.
