The Horizon Award is a special honor from the Joint Leadership of the United States Congress and the Congressional Award Board of Directors. The Horizon Award is given to individuals in the private sector who have worked to expand opportunities for all Americans. It also recognizes people who have set exemplary standards for the next generation of young people with their achievements in their lives. Tom was a great teammate and loved being in such a skilled, well-experienced group. He worked hard and played hard whenever his Magnum schedule allowed . He was accommodating to all of us and we enjoyed the large crowds that displaced our normal small number of friends and spouses at the national tourney games. ".
